At Burton Joyce Primary School, we are committed to providing an inclusive, supportive and high-quality education for all children. We recognise that some pupils may need additional support to achieve their full potential and we work closely with families to ensure every child receives the help and encouragement they need.

Our school SENCo, Lorna Guerbaouy, collaborates with all teachers to identify needs early and assess which quality first teaching adaptations, interventions or specialist support may be required. We follow the ‘Assess, Plan, Do, Review’ model, ensuring that support is carefully targeted and personalised for each child.

Through our high-quality provision, we aim to guarantee that all children have access to a broad and balanced curriculum that is inspiring, carefully sequenced, and differentiated to meet individual needs. We are committed to promoting inclusivity and respecting differences, ensuring every child feels valued and supported.

We provide a learning environment that is accessible to all children and where required, tailored to individual needs. Our approach ensures that every pupil can thrive academically, socially and emotionally as part of our school community.

We believe that early identification and a collaborative approach between school and home are key to supporting every child effectively.

If you have any concerns about your child’s learning or development, please speak to your child’s class teacher or contact the SENCO directly.
