Helping your children to keep safe online is one of the most important lessons we can teach our children due to the many possible risks associated with Internet use. At Burton Joyce Primary School we teach Online Safety lessons in the first week of every half term. These lessons cover:

Each classroom has an Online Safety display with information added throughout the year as knowledge is taught. At the end of each half term there is a whole school assembly delivered by the Computing Leader and the whole school Online Safety display is updated too.
Our Online Safety curriculum has been written inline with ‘Education for a Connected World’ and there are strong links to our PSHE curriculum too.
We know that the internet has many benefits to learning and socialising but there are also dangers and well-being concerns for children. Internet Matters have also published recommendations for apps and websites which promote good lifestyle choices on and offline, including apps to support children with their mental health. This website also has reviews on apps, websites and games that your child may ask to play or use.
